At Mattchanics we discuss the engine building process with you to ascertain your goals, budget and timeframe. We are an experienced in-house engine builder for a variety of applications. These options include OEM engine swaps, JDM engine swaps, full short block/long block swaps, custom built high performance engines (individually selected engine components).
Contact us to discuss these options.

From high quality disc brake pads and brake rotors, we can optimise your vehicle’s stopping power.  A common performance upgrade is to replace standard calipers to STI four or six-pot Brembo’s.

Turbochargers make a massive difference to an engine and there are many upgrade options. There are many factors when deciding on a turbo upgrade, such as the application, the forms of racing motorsport, and if it is a street car. These applications play a crucial factor in deciding the correct direction for your setup. Whether you are looking for bolt-on, rotated, or complete custom turbo kits contact us to discuss a setup.

If you want better performance from your car, the exhaust system is a good place to start, you’ll be surprised at the difference. At Mattchanics we are experienced in fabricating and installing custom exhaust systems. Exhaust services may include exhaust leak testing, gasket replacements, oxygen sensor replacements, catalytic converter replacements, exhaust welding and exhaust noise certification.

Gearbox replacement consists of removing the transmission from the vehicle, resurfacing or replacing the flywheel, new clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, and pilot bearing. Building a Subaru transmission is a specialist task, requiring special tools and knowledge. At Mattchanics there is no manual transmission we cannot repair, from simple syncro ring replacements to replacing broken gear sets or performance.
If your clutch is slipping or just not working anymore contact us to discuss a replacement.

There are many parts working together to ensure your car’s suspension is doing its job. Shock absorbers (or struts) and springs are the main parts, however, it’s important that other parts, including ball joints, tie rod ends and suspension bushes are in good condition. If your after a lowered stance or better cornering, then
coil-overs are a great solution. We can  ensure your coil-overs are compliant and arrange NZTA LVV Certification.
